Cartes Bancaires (Groupement des cartes bancaires CB), known simply as CB, is the national interbank network in France. It has over 46,000 ATMs and is accepted at over a million locations
throughout France, Europe, and beyond.
Cartes Bancaires is a network, overseen by the French government, that gives consumers and merchants the ability to make payments online, in-store, and on their mobile phones. To use Cartes Bancaires, you need an account with a bank that participates in the network, as well as an account with your merchant of choice.
Cartes Bancaires Network is a secure platform that allows you to pay for goods and services using a Visa or MasterCard debit card or credit card. It's easy to use for consumers and merchants alike: simply pay with your card at checkout, enter your PIN number if necessary, then receive confirmation from both your bank and merchant that payment has been received.
When a customer makes a payment using Cartes Bancaires, you (as the merchant) will receive an authorization code from the customer’s bank. This authorization code means that they have enough funds in their account to make the purchase. Once you receive this code, the customer can complete their transaction. They then receive an e-mail confirmation of their purchase within 24 hours.
