Swish was developed by the Swedish Bankers Association, which is a member of the European Mobile Payment System Association. Swish is currently available in Sweden and Finland. The service allows users to make payments using either their bank account numbers or their mobile phone numbers.

Swish has 8 million private users and is accepted by over 300,000 businesses. It charges merchants a standard 2 kronors (app. $0.09 USD) per transaction, though this varies by company.

Swish is used by millions of people every day to make payments, split tabs, pay rent and even send money abroad. Swish is accepted at all stores that accept online payments in Sweden (and some stores outside Sweden). It’s also accepted by many banks and service providers in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and Russia. You can find further information about where Swish is accepted on their website (https://www.swish.se/en/where-is-swish-accepted).

To pay with Swish, users need to have a Swedish bank account and download the app from either Google Play or App Store. They register their mobile number and credit card details in the app.

Swish uses strong encryption technology to keep your information safe from hackers and thieves. The system is also compliant with European Union regulations on protecting personal data from unauthorized access or processing.
